About the Role:

Pick n Pay is seeking a reliable and proactive Shelfpacker to join our team. This physically demanding role involves ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and displayed, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Merchandise Management:
  • Adhere to General Merchandise standards and regulations to achieve targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure merchandise and display standards are consistently met.
  • Conduct regular quality checks, rotate stock, and remove damaged or expired items to prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damages.
  • Verify pricing accuracy, including labels.
• Hygiene and Safety:
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and safety on the floor and in backup areas.
  • Follow and enforce security procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Customer Service:
  • Approach and advise customers on products, handle their requests courteously, and provide exceptional service.
  • See situations from the customer’s perspective and respond positively.
• Operational Efficiency:
  • Display a sense of urgency in completing tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform routine tasks consistently to a high standard.
• Personal Development:
  • Continuously seek opportunities for self-improvement and growth.
  • Be flexible, multi-skilled, and willing to adapt to various tasks as required.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Grade 10 (Grade 12 is advantageous).
  • 2-3 years of retail experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must pass assessments and competency-based interviews.
  • Flexibility to be transferred between stores.
  • Willingness to authorize a full credit and criminal check.
  • Valid South African ID (copy required with application).
  • Must reside close to Pick n Pay Klerksdorp Hyper.
  • Ability to work shifts to meet operational requirements.
