Sasol careers – SHE Princ Practitioner Occ Health Nurse

Purpose of the Role

Sasol is seeking a qualified SHE Princ Practitioner Occ Health Nurse to join our team of 14 professional nurses in the Occupational Health department at Sasol Secunda. Reporting directly to the Medical Surveillance Manager, the successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering high-quality medical surveillance services.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00
  • Friday: 07:00 – 13:00

This role involves performing medical surveillance, conducting screening tests, issuing results, and ensuring quality checks. Effective communication and collaboration with Occupational Health Medical Practitioners (OHMP) and other Occupational Health departments are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute planned medical surveillance programs, including physical assessments, clinical examinations, and biological monitoring.
  • Promote employee health and safety while delivering excellent patient care.
  • Optimize resources to ensure a comprehensive and high-quality medical surveillance program.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Medical Surveillance team and stakeholders to meet organizational needs.
  • Conduct clinical assessments in line with established directives and adhere to legal documentation practices.
  • Foster professional relationships with stakeholders through appropriate workplace behavior.

Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Nursing degree specializing in Occupational Health
  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Occupational Health Nursing Practitioner
  • Audiometric qualification
  • Spirometry certificate

Experience

  • 6-7 years of nursing experience
  • 4-6 years of experience in Occupational Health settings

  • Health and Safety Expertise: Proficient in SHE professional training and behaviors, health risk assessments, and impact evaluations.
  • Business Insight: Strong understanding of business processes to align health initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to manage complexity and resolve issues effectively.
  • Planning and Execution: Skilled in organizing and aligning activities for optimal results.
  • Action-Oriented: Proactively drive initiatives with accountability and a focus on quality outcomes.
