Fidelity Vacancies – Service Technician
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to service, maintain, and repair alarm systems for domestic, commercial, and industrial clients.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric or equivalent certification.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an alarm technician.
- Proven expertise in programming, wiring, installations, and fault-finding.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- PSIRA registration (Grade E).
- Proficient in DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Texecom systems.
- Knowledge of CCTV, intercom systems, and access control.
- Willingness to work standby as per the duty schedule.
Responsibilities:
Technical Duties:
- Conduct service calls, maintenance, and repairs for alarm systems.
- Program alarm panels and perform handovers.
- Prepare invoices and job cards post-service calls.
- Reprogram alarm systems during takeovers and handle small installations.
- Perform link-ups for new clients.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete daily drive sheets and job reports.
- Provide quotations for system upgrades.
- Conduct vehicle, electrical, and ladder inspections.
- Maintain stock control and ensure prompt reporting of discrepancies.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and organized.
Performance Expectations:
Technical:
- Address service calls promptly and professionally.
- Ensure alarm panels are programmed to company standards.
- Complete all installations and documentation with precision and on time.
Administrative:
- Accurately complete drive sheets and technical invoices.
- Provide clients with clear and accurate quotations.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain inventory efficiently.
