Fidelity Vacancies – Technical Assistant-Table View

The Technical Assistant will support technicians with installations, maintenance, and servicing of alarm and security equipment, ensuring high-quality standards and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent
  • At least two years of experience as a Wireman
  • Basic electrical or electronic knowledge is advantageous

Job Requirements & Attributes:

  • PSIRA Grade E registration is advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of programming is beneficial

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

  • Assist technicians with the installation of alarm and security equipment
  • Remove old equipment from client premises as required
  • Run cables, apply adhesives, drill holes, and mount detectors, panels, contacts, and lights
  • Identify and report any shortfalls in tools or equipment needed for installations
  • Assist in programming and testing alarm systems
  • Support technicians in performing handovers and explaining user functions to clients
  • Ensure vehicles and client premises are cleaned after installations

Performance Standards:

  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and neatly
  • Remove all unused equipment before leaving client premises
  • Adhere to company installation standards
  • Notify technicians in advance of any required equipment or materials
  • Ensure adequate cabling is available for installations
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including company vehicles

Internal & External Collaboration:

  • Work closely with installation staff, service teams, CAD, call centers, and technical trainers
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors as needed
