The Service Technician is responsible for servicing and maintaining alarm systems across domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Matric or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an alarm technician
• Previous experience in programming, wiring, installations, and fault finding

Job Requirements & Other Attributes:

• Valid driver’s license is essential
• PSIRA registration (Grade E) required
• Strong knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Texecom systems
• Knowledge of CCTV, Intercom systems, and access control
• Ability to work standby as per duty sheet

Duties & Responsibilities

Technical:

• Conduct service calls, maintenance, and repairs for alarm systems
• Program alarm panels according to standards
• Complete handovers and quotations for clients
• Complete invoices and job cards after every service call
• Set up links for new clients
• Re-program alarm systems as part of takeover processes
• Handle small installations as required

Admin:

• Complete daily drive sheets
• Submit job reports and technical invoices
• Provide quotes to clients for system upgrades
• Perform vehicle, electrical, and ladder inspections, and report feedback to the Field Line Manager (FLM)
• Conduct stock control checks
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the company vehicle

Performance Standards

Technical:

• Attend or reschedule scheduled service calls as necessary
• Ensure alarm panels are programmed to prescribed standards
• Complete required documentation promptly and according to set standards
• Ensure alarms are programmed to ADT standards
• Ensure all installations are completed to ADT standards

Admin:

• Accurately complete drive sheets
• Submit accurate job reports and technical invoices on time
• Provide accurate and timely quotes
• Complete weekly inspection checks
• Ensure all stock is available and report missing stock to FLM
• Keep the company vehicle clean at all times
