Fidelity Vacancies – Service Technician-Atlantic

The Service Technician-Atlantic position is responsible for servicing and maintaining alarm systems across domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors. The role involves technical expertise in alarm systems, troubleshooting, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to clients.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an alarm technician.
  • Experience in programming, wiring, installations, and fault-finding.

Job Requirements & Attributes

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • PSIRA registered (Grade E).
  • Strong knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Texecom alarm systems.
  • Familiarity with CCTV, intercom systems, and access control.
  • Ability to work standby as per duty schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities

Technical:

  • Conduct service calls, maintenance, and repairs on alarm systems.
  • Program alarm panels to required standards.
  • Complete handovers, quotations, invoices, and job cards.
  • Perform system link-ups for new clients.
  • Re-program alarm systems during system takeovers.
  • Carry out small installations when necessary.

Administrative:

  • Complete daily drive sheets.
  • Submit job reports and technical invoices.
  • Provide upgrade quotations to clients.
  • Conduct and report vehicle, electrical, and ladder inspections.
  • Maintain stock control and report shortages.
  • Keep company vehicle clean and organized.

Performance Standards

Technical:

  • Ensure all scheduled service calls are completed or rescheduled promptly.
  • Maintain programming standards for alarm panels.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
  • Ensure alarm programming meets ADT standards.
  • Carry out all installations in compliance with company guidelines.

Administrative:

  • Accurately complete all drive sheets, job reports, and invoices.
  • Provide detailed and accurate quotations.
  • Conduct weekly inspection checks.
  • Maintain sufficient stock levels and report any discrepancies.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean and presentable at all times.
