About the Role:

Pick n Pay is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Service Area Assistant for our Fruit & Veg department. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, handling, and promoting fresh fruit and vegetable products while ensuring top-notch customer service and adherence to hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Handling:
  • Prepare and process fresh fruit and vegetable products.
  • Store, handle, merchandise, and promote all fresh fruit and vegetable products according to established standards.
• Customer Service:
  • Listen to customer requests and provide the required products or services.
  • Advise customers on fruit and vegetable products, handling all interactions in a courteous and professional manner.
• Operational Duties:
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards within the area.
  • Wrap products and operate scales efficiently.
  • Ensure backup areas are well-maintained.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer-focused approach, viewing situations from the customer’s perspective and responding positively.
• Passion for working with fresh produce and enthusiasm for promoting it.
• Strong sense of urgency, consistently completing tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, including attentive listening and clear, understandable responses.
• Team player with a cooperative attitude and commitment to achieving team goals.
• Willingness to seek opportunities for personal growth and development.
