About the Role:

Pick n Pay is looking for a Service Area Assistant Deli to ensure that meals are displayed and served according to recipe and quantity specifications, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation and Display:
  • Ensure meals are displayed and served according to recipe and quantity specifications.
  • Process customer orders following correct procedures and service standards.
• Hygiene and Safety:
  • Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working standards both on the floor and in backup areas.
  • Operate and clean equipment according to established standards.
• Stock Management:
  • Check and confirm correct pricing, labels, and displays.
  • Monitor quality, rotate stock, and remove expired items to prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damages.
• Customer Service:
  • Approach and advise customers on products, handle requests courteously, and provide required services.
  • Promote products effectively and respond to customer needs with a positive attitude.
• Operational Efficiency:
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing tasks efficiently.
  • Perform routine tasks consistently to a high standard.
• Personal Development:
  • Continuously seek opportunities for self-improvement and growth.
  • Be flexible, multi-skilled, and able to adapt to various tasks as required.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of retail experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must pass assessments and competency-based interviews.
  • Flexibility to be transferred between stores.
  • Willingness to authorize a full credit and criminal check.
  • Valid South African ID (copy required with application).
  • Must reside close to Pick n Pay Klerksdorp Hyper.
  • Able to work shifts to meet operational requirements.
