Spar Vacancies – Senior Store Designer

Spar is seeking an experienced and creative Senior Store Designer to provide leadership in retail design and operations. The successful candidate will drive innovation, oversee store design processes, and ensure alignment with industry trends and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of four store planners and designers.
  • Ensure adherence to structured processes and best practices.
  • Coordinate communication among all stakeholders, including development teams, operations, retailers, and developers.
  • Oversee on-site measurements and maintain an asset register for store revamps.
  • Develop and present initial design briefs for new store layouts.
  • Create detailed working drawings for construction on key projects.
  • Conduct research on new design trends, equipment, and specifications.
  • Manage documentation and administrative procedures related to store design.
  • Prepare visually compelling presentations for interior design concepts.
  • Work collaboratively to meet project deadlines and targets.
  • Maintain a catalog of store photos for existing and new locations.
  • Act as a brand custodian, ensuring consistency across retail spaces.
  • Conduct workshops with the development team and contribute to quarterly newsletters.
  • Estimate project costs and review annual supplier rates.
  • Assist with trade shows and industry events.

Minimum Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric).
  • Tertiary qualification in Interior Design or Architectural Draughting.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit.
  • Knowledge of CorelDRAW is an advantage.
  • Strong eagerness to learn and grow in the role.
