Purpose of the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design, development, testing, and installation of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and components. Your expertise will ensure these solutions align with regulatory standards and meet customer requirements, contributing to the success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize mechanical engineering systems, tools, specifications, and standards.
  • Identify weaknesses in current systems and implement corrective actions.
  • Research and design innovative technology solutions to address operational needs.
  • Conduct fault-finding on complex mining equipment and design risk assessments.
  • Manage interfaces between engineering disciplines, maintenance teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Document and share lessons learned to improve project outcomes.
  • Guide technology selections and advise on project execution strategies, including supplier selection.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and safety standards while managing deviations effectively.
  • Drive project success by meeting cost, quality, and schedule targets.
  • Build advanced knowledge in mechanical engineering fields and contribute to team strategy.
  • Lead and mentor team members, ensuring their development through personal development plans.
  • Maintain productive relationships with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certification: Government Competency Certificate (GCC).
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years in a relevant role.
