Senior Manager, Sales – DSV Vacancies

Main Purpose of the Role
The Senior Manager, Sales, is responsible for recruiting, leading, and developing a high-performance team across new business and retention functions. The primary objective is to drive growth for the Gauteng branch by achieving new business and retention targets while ensuring client-centric relationships and sustainable profitability.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding
  • 7 years of client-facing experience in new business, trade lane, or client retention
  • Reliable transport to and from work
  • Valid, unendorsed Code 08 driver’s license
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required

Qualifications

  • Matric (essential)
  • Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Logistics Management qualification (advantageous) or equivalent work experience

Computer Packages

  • CargoWise One, Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, OneNote, Forms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a high-performance sales team for new business and retention
  • Drive branch growth by achieving new business and retention targets
  • Ensure client retention through innovation, value delivery, and account management best practices
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and market trends
  • Provide quality leads and coordinate prospecting campaigns with the sales and trade lane teams
  • Assist and support sales team in preparing and delivering high-standard proposals, tenders, and presentations
  • Implement pricing increases and commercial strategies in line with company objectives
  • Compile budgets and forecasts for sales and operational planning
  • Manage DSOs and maintain high levels of operational efficiency
  • Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Facilitate continuous learning, product knowledge development, and motivation within the team
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee and ensure timely completion of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
  • Promote a client-focused, innovative, and high-energy sales culture

  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and use initiative

  • Familiarity with PSS course principles and system-oriented processes
