Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Manager Sales and Distribution to support the General Manager of Sales & Distribution for Mobile Financial Services (MFS). This role is critical in driving strategic initiatives, optimizing sales channels, and fostering growth in Mobile Financial Services within the region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership, distribution management, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Distribution Management
- Implement Mobile Money sales strategies and channel plans for the assigned business unit.
- Drive efficient liquidity support through effective rebalancing models in the ecosystem.
- Supervise and coordinate agents and merchants to meet sales targets.
- Build and maintain a high-performing sales team by identifying training needs and implementing development plans.
- Oversee the expansion and management of distribution and merchant networks.
- Ensure the timely introduction of high-quality products and services to the market.
Strategic Development and Execution
- Deliver business goals aligned with EXCO directives and the overall OpCo strategy.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships to strengthen the financial and mobile money ecosystem.
- Develop and execute innovative sales and marketing strategies to boost customer usage and product awareness.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Recruit, nurture, and retain top talent in line with MTN policies.
- Set SMART objectives for the team, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Champion change management and ensure open communication across teams.
- Actively engage in leadership initiatives to build a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Governance and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Escalate and resolve critical issues impacting service delivery.
Performance Management and Reporting
- Monitor and evaluate sales performance against KPIs, providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Prepare and present detailed reports, including daily, weekly, and annual progress updates.
Project and Budget Management
- Oversee the execution of regional sales projects, ensuring alignment with budgets and business objectives.
- Optimize operational costs through efficient resource management.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree is an advantage.
- Mobile money-related certifications are a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution management within industries like Mobile Money, FMCG, or GSM.
- At least 3 years of experience managing a sales team with a proven track record in achieving targets.
- Strong operational experience in building and expanding distribution networks.
- Cross-cultural and geographic work experience is advantageous.
