MTN Careers – Senior Manager – IS Security

As the Senior Manager – Forecasting, Planning, and Analysis at MTN, you will lead strategic and tactical planning efforts to ensure the company’s systems and processes align with business goals, while driving operational excellence and supporting long-term growth. Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

• Lead the development of strategies and goals to support MTN’s portfolio vision, ensuring alignment with business outcomes, IT principles, and key decisions across the organization.
• Recommend long-term strategic opportunities to promote organizational growth and enhance customer value.
• Influence the Group Technology roadmap and collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to define and standardize processes.
• Drive the adoption of a self-service philosophy across systems and processes.
• Evaluate IT trends, initiate proof of concepts, and provide feedback on their relevance and potential impact on MTN’s objectives.
• Translate strategic vision into actionable technical requirements for system optimization and growth.

Tactical Operations and Planning:

• Lead system optimization initiatives and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure system availability and efficiency.
• Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with business specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure the implementation of business process improvements by analyzing the current environment and recommending IT solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance MTN’s IT systems and operational capabilities.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring their contributions support MTN’s strategic objectives.

Governance & Risk Management:

• Support MTN’s corporate governance framework, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage documentation and testing processes to ensure seamless implementation of new technologies.
• Lead efforts to ensure that data security policies and best practices are followed, minimizing risks and optimizing system performance.

Financial Management:

• Manage and track departmental budgets, ensuring that expenditures align with strategic goals.
• Provide input into the forecasting and planning of annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
• Ensure that all financial activities adhere to budget guidelines and report on project costings and resource requirements.

Customer Focus:

• Ensure that the team delivers high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
• Regularly report on underutilized system capabilities and suggest improvements to the business.
• Ensure that changes to platforms are communicated effectively, maintaining a focus on quality and security.

Security and Compliance:

• Develop and implement security strategies to safeguard MTN’s systems and data.
• Collaborate with internal audit teams to monitor and report on security incidents and policy compliance.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Minimum 4-year tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (BSc IT, BCom IT, or similar); Master’s degree preferred.
• Managerial certifications or courses will be an advantage.
• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent Information Security qualification or proven experience.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience, with at least 3 years in a related sector or industry.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing an organization-wide information security framework.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory requirements within the telecom industry.
• Experience managing vendor relationships, service-level agreements, and enterprise risk management.
• Familiarity with global telecom IT environments and governance best practices.
