Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Manager – Innovation & Commercialization to lead the Foods Category Innovation agenda across the AMESA sector (Africa, Middle East, and South Asia). This leadership role is pivotal in driving the successful commercialization of innovations, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering strong financial performance in line with PepsiCo’s broader strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Innovation & Commercialization Leadership:
- Category Innovation Pipeline: Drive the end-to-end commercialization of the AMESA Foods Category Innovation pipeline, ensuring excellence across markets including Egypt, Middle East, Pakistan, South Africa, WECA, and India.
- 3-Lens Leadership: Apply expertise in the Desirability, Feasibility, and Viability lenses to evaluate and refine innovation projects. Lead teams in balancing consumer demand, manufacturing capabilities, and financial viability from the outset, ensuring all projects are human-centric and strategically sound.
- Scaling Innovations: Identify high-potential innovations within the enterprise that can be scaled across the sector. Collaborate with global functional teams to drive feasibility and develop end-to-end execution plans.
- Drive Growth & Execution: Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of innovation initiatives. Support the Senior Director of Innovation & Commercialization to align innovation with the sector’s growth strategy and KPIs.
2. Program Management & Growth Platforms:
- Program Management Excellence: Lead the commercialization of the Foods Growth Platforms, partnering with category marketing and cross-functional teams to accelerate innovation implementation across the strategic plan horizon.
- Risk & Resource Management: Drive program delivery by managing interdependencies, risks, timelines, and budgets. Lead teams through critical decisions to ensure successful project execution and scale.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Coordinate efforts across Marketing, Sales, R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance to deliver innovation solutions on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic goals.
3. Innovation Health & Reporting:
- Portfolio Analysis: Oversee the health of the innovation portfolio, conducting regular assessments and reporting on KPIs. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual innovation planning processes to ensure flawless execution.
- Governance: Establish clear innovation governance to guide project teams and facilitate decision-making at the Category Innovation Board level. Ensure cross-functional alignment, identify risks, and make strategic trade-offs.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years in business, with a strong preference for backgrounds in consumer marketing, insights, or supply chain.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Skills:
- High level of business acumen, with a deep understanding of end-to-end innovation processes.
- Financially astute, with experience managing P&Ls and cross-functional project management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with a proven ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience in managing complex projects and teams within a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
- Ability to drive process efficiencies and make data-driven business recommendations.
