Job Overview

The Senior Manager – Head of Private Network Solutions will lead the end-to-end delivery of innovative, customer-centric private network solutions, ensuring commercial success, operational excellence, and optimal customer experience. This leadership role combines strategy, product management, pre-sales, engineering, delivery, and alliances into a cohesive practice to drive growth, profitability, and market leadership.

You will oversee the entire solution lifecycle, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with MTN’s broader business goals. This role carries full Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability for the assigned solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the comprehensive strategy for private network solutions, aligning with MTN’s business objectives.
  • Drive innovation, time-to-market improvements, and scalability while ensuring future readiness across solution capabilities.
  • Commit to sales targets and influence overall business line strategies to achieve financial and operational excellence.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to evolve the strategy and maintain competitive advantage.

Solution Development and Delivery

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams in pre-sales, product management, engineering, and delivery to develop and enhance private network solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of solutions with customer demands and MTN’s strategic goals.
  • Oversee pre-sales efforts, ensuring solutions meet technical and business requirements while addressing client needs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through timely, high-quality delivery of solutions in alignment with service level agreements (SLAs).

Business Operations and Governance

  • Define and implement service-level agreements (SLAs) and governance frameworks to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring solutions meet regulatory, quality, and performance standards.
  • Partner with marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies that leverage cutting-edge technologies and personalized customer engagement.

Financial Management

  • Own the P&L for the business line, focusing on revenue growth, margin optimization, and cost control.
  • Collaborate with leadership to set budgets, sales targets, and financial milestones.
  • Monitor financial metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver regular reports to senior management.

People Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent while ensuring diversity and equity within the team.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development opportunities to team members.

Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct market research to identify best practices and emerging trends, incorporating them into solution strategies.
  • Act as a thought leader, representing MTN in industry forums and contributing to the company’s reputation as a market innovator.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • MBA or Master’s degree is advantageous.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in a commercial or telecommunications environment, with a proven track record in senior management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in launching and managing innovative solutions with end-to-end growth strategy and P&L management.
  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams in product development, pre-sales, and service delivery.
  • Experience working across diverse cultures and geographies.

Skills

  • Strong expertise in Agile and Lean methodologies.
  • Proven P&L and financial management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in solution-specific technologies (e.g., AI) and customer engagement strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
