Job Description:
The Senior Manager – Head of Outsource will oversee end-to-end solutions delivery, with a focus on driving commercial success, fostering innovation, and enhancing customer experience. This leadership role is responsible for managing multiple functions to optimize margins, accelerate time-to-market, and increase solution maturity, including:

  • Product Management
  • Pre-sales and Architecture
  • Engineering/Platform
  • Delivery Functions
  • Alliances
  • Go-to-market

The role is accountable for the profitability of assigned business solutions, ensuring operational excellence, and managing the P&L across the business line.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development

  • Lead the design and execution of comprehensive solutions strategies, ensuring alignment with MTN’s broader organizational goals.
  • Drive growth strategies for solutions, aligning with sales targets and overall business line objectives.
  • Develop and implement solution-specific plans while continuously assessing market trends and customer needs to refine the strategy.
  • Deliver actionable roadmaps, frameworks, and methodologies that enable the business line to innovate and improve time-to-market.

Business Line Solution Leadership (End-to-End)

  • Lead a multi-functional team across pre-sales, product management, engineering, and delivery to develop and enhance innovative solutions.
  • Oversee pre-sales activities to support business development and ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to align solutions with business strategy and customer demands.
  • Continuously improve the solution development process, ensuring scalable, innovative solutions.
  • Manage cross-functional delivery teams, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders and that solutions meet customer expectations and SLAs.

Business Operations Leadership

  • Develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to meet contractual obligations and customer needs.
  • Lead partnerships with internal and external teams to co-develop products and initiatives.
  • Implement integrated project management models to ensure project completion with defined timelines and deliverables.
  • Oversee business processes, focusing on optimization, automation, and scalability.
  • Manage performance across multiple functional units, ensuring consistency and excellence in outputs.

Financial Management/ Budget and Cost Control

  • Manage the P&L for assigned solutions, focusing on cost optimization and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to set budgets and sales targets, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Monitor financial metrics, identify areas for improvement, and control costs without compromising quality.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for senior management, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

Governance, Risk and Reporting

  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and risk management.
  • Supervise contract management, ensuring compliance with procurement standards and mitigating risks.
  • Identify and manage risks related to service delivery, legal, regulatory, and operational factors.

Continuous Improvement

  • Research industry innovations and identify best practices to implement within the business.
  • Foster thought leadership by staying informed on trends and sharing knowledge internally and externally.

People Leadership/Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, setting clear goals and KPIs to ensure success.
  • Attract and retain talent, focusing on employee engagement and professional development.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, high performance, and accountability.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3-year degree in Technology Systems, Telecommunication Management, Information Technology, or related field (MBA/Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Sales & Commercial roles within a telecommunications environment.
  • Proven track record in senior management, overseeing cross-functional teams, and delivering innovative solutions.
  • Expertise in Growth Strategy, P&L Management, and leading solution-specific initiatives.
  • Experience with Agile, Lean methodologies, and a strong understanding of AI and other emerging technologies.

Required Skills:

  • Multi-disciplinary leadership with expertise in P&L and Financial Management.
  • Agile and Lean Methodologies.
  • Solution-specific technical proficiency (e.g., AI).
  • Strong background in customer engagement, sales, and pre-sales.
