Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Manager – Head of IoT Solutions to lead and oversee the development and delivery of innovative IoT solutions. This pivotal role focuses on driving commercial success, fostering innovation, and enhancing customer experience. The position involves leading multiple functions including Product Management, Pre-sales, Engineering, Platform, Delivery, Alliances, and Go-to-Market strategies, with accountability for profitability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategy Development:
  • Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive IoT solutions within the business line, aligning with broader organizational goals.
  • Develop growth strategies and sales targets for IoT solutions, ensuring alignment with business line and overall MTN objectives.
  • Drive future-ready strategies to optimize customer experience, product development, and project delivery.
  • Continuously assess emerging market trends and customer needs to refine strategies.
• Business Line Solution Leadership:
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team (pre-sales, product management, engineering, and delivery) to develop new IoT solutions and enhance existing ones.
  • Oversee pre-sales activities, working closely with sales teams to ensure proposed solutions meet technical and business requirements.
  • Ensure alignment of solutions with overall business strategy and customer demands, driving innovation and time-to-market improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure efficient solution delivery, meeting customer expectations and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Business Operations Leadership:
  • Design and implement SLAs, ensuring contractual agreements are met.
  • Manage project documents, including SLA agreements, ensuring realistic standards and deadlines.
  • Oversee the performance of business functions, identifying areas for automation and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with external partners to co-create innovative solutions and drive synergies.
• Financial Management & Cost Control:
  • Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) for IoT solutions, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor key financial metrics to control costs and enhance revenue growth.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, ensuring commercial viability.
  • Prepare financial reports for senior management, providing actionable insights.
• Governance, Risk, and Reporting:
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Oversee risk management across the IoT solution lifecycle, mitigating commercial, legal, and regulatory risks.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes meet the highest standards of reliability, security, and performance.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovations, sharing best practices with internal teams.
  • Position MTN as a thought leader in the IoT space by participating in industry conferences and sharing intellectual property.
• People Leadership:
  • Set clear goals and objectives for team members, fostering a high-performance culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A 3-year degree (or equivalent) in Technology Systems (Telecommunication Management, Information Technology) or a related field.
• MBA/Masters is advantageous.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience, including senior management experience in a commercial/telecommunications environment.
• Proven track record in launching and managing innovative solutions and overseeing P&L management.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration across product development, pre-sales, platform teams, and service delivery.
