Rand Water Vacancies – Senior District Attendant
Job Overview:
Rand Water is seeking a Senior District Attendant to assist the District Superintendent and Assistant in maintaining pipelines, valves, meters, and other water reticulation equipment. The successful candidate will also supervise team members and ensure the effective operation of district machinery and vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on pipelines.
- Conduct regular patrols of pipelines to ensure functionality and safety.
- Carry out standby duties as required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of grounds.
- Supervise excavation work and lead maintenance teams during projects.
- Ensure all necessary tools and equipment are available and operational.
- Inspect district vehicles daily to ensure they are in good working condition.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience in plant operations or pipeline maintenance.
- Ability to perform maintenance on pipelines and water reticulation systems.
- Code EB/B Driver’s License.
- Supervisory experience is an advantage.
Knowledge:
- General maintenance procedures for water systems.
- Understanding of safety and safe working procedures.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills for effective team coordination.
- Ability to carry out maintenance and repairs on pipelines and related equipment.

- Performance-driven and committed to excellence in all tasks.
- Highly motivated with a strong customer service orientation.
