Rand Water Vacancies – Senior District Aide

Job Summary:
Rand Water is seeking a dedicated Senior District Aide to support the District Superintendent and Assistant in the maintenance and operation of pipelines, valves, meters, and other water reticulation equipment. This role involves overseeing maintenance tasks, conducting pipeline patrols, and supervising excavation teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance on pipelines, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
• Conduct regular pipeline patrols and report any issues.
• Participate in standby duties as required.
• Oversee the upkeep of district grounds and facilities.
• Supervise excavation work and lead teams during maintenance operations.
• Check and maintain equipment and machinery for optimal performance.
• Inspect district vehicles daily, ensuring tools and materials are readily available for tasks.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in plant operations or pipeline maintenance.
• Proven ability to perform maintenance on pipelines and related water systems.
• Code EB/B Driver’s License.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.

Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of general maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and safe working practices.

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills for team coordination.
• Ability to perform pipeline maintenance and oversee related operations.

• Customer service-oriented and motivated to meet operational goals.
