Job Description:
As a Sales Representative for Tiger Brands, you will be responsible for growing the Bakery business by servicing a defined route within a specific geographical area. You will act as the face of the brand to customers, utilizing your sales expertise to maximize store performance through effective planning, merchandising, stock rotation, and pricing. You will also use consumer and trade insights to address the unique needs of each customer.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Tiger Brands’ products, sales systems, and procedures.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with store management to deliver value and exceed customer expectations.
- Tailor sales presentations to fit customer needs, store demographics, and consumer trends.
- Ensure product availability by managing order-writing and supporting stock levels.
- Implement Point of Purchase (POP) drivers as per customer and brand plans, while reporting on POP scorecards.
- Take stock during every call cycle, ensuring compliance with promotional space and pricing agreements.
- Ensure proper product placement and SKU space allocation in line with trade agreements.
- Collaborate with merchandisers to keep inventory fully stocked, rotated, and presentable at all times.
- Manage returns by processing credits and proper disposal of stock where necessary.
- Gather customer intelligence and report on competitive activity, pricing, and preferences.
- Act as a liaison between Customer Managers and store management, facilitating communication and reporting.
- Present deal sheets to buyers in a timely manner.
- Manage customer documentation and administration efficiently, including forms, claims, and payments.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of field sales experience, preferably in the FMCG industry.
- Education: Grade 12 or equivalent; qualifications in Marketing or Sales preferred.
