Engen is looking for a dynamic Retail Sales Manager to join their team in Johannesburg. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing dealer relationships, ensuring compliance with retail brand standards, and optimizing performance to drive profitability and market share growth.
Purpose of the Job: As a Retail Sales Manager, you will focus on managing dealer relationships, ensuring adherence to brand standards, and driving performance optimization. Your goal is to increase profitability, grow market share, and maintain strong connections with stakeholders.

What You’ve Done Before:
- At least 5 years’ experience in sales, retail, fuel, or marketing roles
- An NQF 7 qualification (BCom Degree in Marketing/Finance/General Business) or 10 years of relevant experience through RPL (Recognized Prior Learning)
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of FMCG and franchise businesses
Advantageous:
- 3 years’ experience as an Area Manager
- Ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment and navigate ambiguity
- Advanced business management skills or a strong desire to develop them

- Proactively driving profitability and regional growth initiatives
- Building strong relationships with dealers and stakeholders
- Measuring retail efficiency standards and ensuring HSEQ compliance
- Maximizing profitability through national promotions and programs
- Creating a safe working and shopping environment for staff and customers
