Clicks Group Careers – Retail Finance Manager II – Healthcare

Job Purpose:
The Retail Finance Manager II – Healthcare is responsible for enhancing the financial health of the organization by coordinating commercial financial support and providing strategic direction for the Healthcare and Marketing areas, ensuring alignment with the group’s governance framework.

Job Objectives:

  • Provide strategic financial direction for Healthcare (including Unipharma) and Unihealth, focusing on data, insights, and identifying risks and opportunities.

  • Conduct due diligence for large pharmacy acquisitions in line with the retail strategy.

  • Develop strong business partnerships to ensure business objectives and budget adherence are achieved in an environment of transparency.

  • Support the business in making informed decisions by producing, distributing, and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Ensure accurate reports are generated, analyzed, and distributed to various business units, with variances and corrective actions highlighted. Monitor the implementation of corrective actions.

  • Support the business during the planning and forecasting processes, balancing risks and opportunities effectively.

  • Manage direct reports to ensure business objectives are met and high-quality work is delivered through an engaged and motivated team.

  • Promote efficiency, productivity, and profitability by ensuring the efficient use and protection of company assets.

  • Provide financial simulations and assist in developing business cases and feasibility studies for new projects.

Desired Experience & Qualification:
Job-related Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and principles.

  • Retail industry experience is desirable.

  • Strong leadership and analytical skills.

  • Proficient in accounting principles and practices.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Highly skilled in MS Excel; familiarity with ERP systems and integrated business analysis tools (SAP/BI) is a strong plus.

  • Flexible and a team player, with the ability to self-motivate and work independently.

Experience:

  • 6-8 years of relevant finance experience, preferably within the retail industry or a JSE-listed company.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree.

  • CA (SA) qualification.
