SPAR is looking for a Retail Estate Manager to join its team in KwaZulu-Natal. This role is responsible for expanding the Build it retail footprint by identifying new store opportunities, securing sites, and driving brand growth regionally.

Responsibilities

• Establish and strengthen Build it’s presence in the property development sector
• Evaluate potential store locations at both macro and micro levels
• Present proposed sites to the Regional Committee for membership approval
• Finalize lease agreements and secure selected sites for development
• Assess and interview prospective retailers
• Oversee the sale and acquisition of existing Build it stores

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of the local property and retail development market
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail estate management or a similar role
• Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and financing options
• Ability to conduct and interpret financial feasibility studies
• Expertise in leasing, contracts, and demographic analysis
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
• High level of integrity and ability to work independently
• Highly organized with excellent planning and decision-making abilities
• Tertiary qualification in Building Engineering or Building Science Diploma (preferred)
