Spar Vacancies – Retail Estate Manager

Spar is seeking a Retail Estate Manager to drive the expansion of the Build it brand by identifying and securing new store locations, facilitating store launches, and supporting the development of existing stores. The role involves managing site selection, lease agreements, and retailer evaluations while ensuring strong regional brand growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain Build it’s presence in the property development sector.
• Evaluate potential store locations at both macro and micro levels.
• Present site proposals to the Regional Committee for membership approval.
• Negotiate and finalize lease agreements, securing key locations for development.
• Assess and interview prospective retailers for brand alignment.
• Oversee the sale and transition of existing Build it stores.

Minimum Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the local property and retail development market.
• At least five years of experience in a Retail Estate Management role or similar.
• Solid understanding of financial statements, particularly cash flow and financing.
• Ability to conduct and interpret financial feasibility studies.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience with leasing agreements.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret demographic data.
• Self-motivated with a high level of integrity.
• Ability to work independently and build relationships with key stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making abilities.
• Preferably a tertiary qualification in Building Engineering or a Building Science Diploma.
