Spar Vacancies – Retail Estate Manager

Spar is looking for a Retail Estate Manager to expand the Build it retail footprint by identifying and launching new stores while supporting the growth of existing locations. The role focuses on finding new business opportunities, securing prime retail sites, and driving the Build it brand within the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Strengthen Build it’s presence in the property development industry.
• Assess prospective sites on both macro and micro levels.
• Present selected sites to the Regional Committee for Build it Membership approval.
• Negotiate and finalize lease agreements to secure key locations.
• Evaluate and interview potential retailers.
• Oversee the sale and transition of existing Build it stores.

Minimum Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of the local property and retail development market.
• At least five years of experience in Retail Estate Management or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and financing options.
• Ability to conduct and interpret financial feasibility studies.
• Proven negotiation skills and expertise in leasing and contract management.
• Ability to analyze and interpret demographic data.
• Self-motivated with a high level of integrity.
• Strong relationship-building skills with key stakeholders.
• Highly organized, decisive, and strategic planner.
• A tertiary qualification in Building Engineering or a Building Science Diploma is preferred.
