Spar Vacancies – Retail Estate Manager

SPAR is looking for a Retail Estate Manager to join its team in South Rand, Johannesburg. This role is responsible for expanding the Build it retail footprint by facilitating the entry of new stores, identifying business opportunities, and driving regional growth of the brand.

Responsibilities

• Establish and strengthen Build it’s presence in the property development industry
• Evaluate prospective retail sites on both a macro and micro level
• Present selected sites to the Regional Committee for Build it Membership approval
• Finalize lease agreements and secure prime locations for development
• Interview and assess potential retailers for new store openings
• Oversee the sale and transition of existing Build it stores

Requirements

• Strong understanding of the property and retail development market
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Retail Estate Management role or similar
• In-depth knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and financing options
• Ability to conduct and interpret financial feasibility studies
• Negotiation expertise to secure favorable lease and contract terms
• Proficiency in demographic analysis for site selection
• Self-motivated, independent, and proactive in business development
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Strong ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
• Organized, decisive, and an effective planner
• Preferably holds a tertiary qualification in Building Engineering or Building Science Diploma
