OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
To lead, develop, and guide a sales team in achieving sales targets by executing effective sales strategies, fostering strong customer relationships, and optimizing market opportunities within the Western Cape region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and direct the sales team to sustain customer relationships and maximize sales performance.
- Conduct business reviews, analyze customer needs, and deliver tailored solutions.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns in alignment with company policies.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers.
- Implement and manage regional sales strategies to drive market share and customer base expansion.
- Monitor and report on sales initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Optimize team productivity through effective execution of sales and marketing plans.
- Develop business growth strategies for pharmacies, wholesalers, and retail partners.
- Ensure the sales team has access to necessary tools and data for informed decision-making.
- Drive forecast accuracy and achieve budgeted sales targets.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance performance and professional growth.
- Oversee recruitment, performance management, and development of the sales team.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies.
- Manage budgets, expense approvals, and leave administration.
- Conduct disciplinary discussions in line with company procedures.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Matric/Grade 12 Certificate.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous).
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical or related sales experience.
- Sales management experience (preferred).
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
- Valid driver’s license (Code 8) and own transport.
- Knowledge of local pharmaceutical markets, policies, and supply chains.
- Experience in data analysis (QlikSense, QlikView, Power BI).
- Understanding of IQVIA TPM and SSD datasets.
- Strong commercial acumen and industry awareness.
- Compliance and regulatory knowledge.
