Shoprite Vacancies – Regional People Partner
Shoprite is seeking a Regional People Partner to drive HR strategy, implement people-focused initiatives, and support business operations across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the People strategy and ensure effective execution across the region.
- Align HR planning with divisional and regional operational objectives.
- Deliver end-to-end People services, including employee relations and industrial relations support.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, processes, and best practices while handling escalations.
- Collaborate with the broader People team to implement initiatives and drive employee engagement.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding in coordination with the Divisional People Partner and Recruitment Consultant.
- Track career management and succession planning in alignment with workforce needs.
- Manage talent development, performance management, and training budgets.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on People initiatives and change management.
- Support workforce scheduling, time and attendance, employee wellness, and health & safety programs.
People & Organizational Development
- Implement employee engagement and wellness initiatives to enhance productivity.
- Co-create People solutions that align with team and organizational objectives.
- Drive a culture of collaboration and innovation within HR and across departments.
Financial & Reporting Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the regional People budget in alignment with operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and manage People-related expenses.
- Maintain accurate People data and system inputs, ensuring up-to-date organizational structures.
- Use HR data analytics to inform decision-making and track key People metrics.
Governance & Compliance
- Enforce HR governance policies, procedures, and frameworks within the region.
- Identify and mitigate People-related risks, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Implement change initiatives to support business transformation.
- Identify technology and process improvements to enhance HR service delivery.
Qualifications
- Degree in Human Resources or equivalent qualification (essential).
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in an HR Business Partnering role or similar, driving HR strategy and execution.
- Experience in FMCG or retail HR practices, with a strong understanding of workforce planning.
- Knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, employment equity, and compliance.
- Exposure to diversity and inclusion strategies and best practices.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to analyze HR data, identify trends, and recommend actionable insights.
- Experience in performance management, training, and talent development.
- Familiarity with HR systems, governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Adaptability to fast-paced environments, managing HR initiatives effectively.
