Shoprite Vacancies – Regional People Partner

Shoprite is seeking a dedicated Regional People Partner to drive people strategies, ensure effective workforce planning, and support business objectives through comprehensive HR solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Employee-Centric Delivery

  • Contribute to the People strategy for the division and region, ensuring effective implementation.
  • Drive operational planning for people functions within the regional and divisional frameworks.
  • Execute initiatives aligned with the Divisional People Roadmap.
  • Deliver end-to-end HR services, including industrial relations facilitation and resolution.
  • Guide and coach the team on HR policies, procedures, and best practices while managing escalations.
  • Stay updated on HR developments to align regional strategies with broader people initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the People team to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Lead the implementation of HR projects and workforce enablement initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee workforce planning and structural requirements to align with business needs.
  • Support talent acquisition by working closely with the Divisional People Partner and Recruitment Consultant.
  • Oversee career management and succession planning for the region.
  • Manage the execution of talent programs, including performance management, learning, and development.
  • Analyze people data to identify trends and recommend HR solutions.
  • Provide strategic HR advisory services to regional leadership, aligning business and people priorities.
  • Ensure full-cycle HR support, including workforce management, scheduling, and wellness initiatives.

People Management and Engagement

  • Facilitate various HR operations and administration to enhance productivity.
  • Drive employee engagement and wellness programs within the region.
  • Develop HR solutions that align with organizational and team objectives.

Financial, Reporting & Business Intelligence

  • Develop the regional HR budget in alignment with operational needs.
  • Manage HR-related costs and ensure financial compliance.
  • Ensure accuracy in HR data management, including organizational structures and reporting lines.
  • Utilize data-driven insights for strategic decision-making.

Governance & Compliance

  • Oversee HR governance, policies, and frameworks to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate HR risks in collaboration with the operations team.
  • Implement and manage a regional People Risk Plan.

Future-Focused HR Solutions

  • Drive change management initiatives to enhance business adaptability.
  • Identify technology needs to improve HR service delivery.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve HR processes in collaboration with divisional and service teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources or equivalent (essential).

Experience

  • Three or more years in an HR Business Partner or equivalent role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR frameworks, policies, and service delivery in a retail or FMCG environment.
  • Understanding of statutory requirements, labor laws, and compliance regulations.
  • Experience in diversity, inclusion, and employment equity initiatives.
  • Proven ability to execute generalist HR functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in HR within the FMCG or retail sector is an advantage.
