Job Description:

Buco is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Merchandise Manager to oversee procurement and merchandise activities within the Polokwane region. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in executing regional procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring optimal stock levels across stores.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regional Procurement: Develop and implement regional procurement strategies in alignment with Group Procurement Strategy, budgets, and business objectives.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Category Managers and Product Specialists to execute category strategies, optimize opportunities, and address supply chain challenges.
• Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate base prices, regional deals, forward orders, and KVI pricing to ensure competitive offerings.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Engage proactively with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including the Group Merchandising team, Store Managers, and Store Buyers, to manage expectations and ensure smooth delivery.
• Supplier Listing: Ensure all procedures and processes are followed when listing Regional Suppliers.
• Product Training: Organize and coordinate product and supplier service training as needed to support store teams.
• Stock Management: Develop and implement strategies to maintain efficient stock levels and ensure adherence to SOPs and best practices.
• Stock File Integrity: Ensure the integrity of stock files in compliance with stock file guidelines.
• Procurement Procedures: Manage the regional merchandising portfolio in line with established procedures and processes.
• Market Intelligence: Gather market intelligence to assess and maintain business competitiveness.
• Regional Promotions: Plan, coordinate, and execute regional promotions to drive sales.

Requirements:

• Qualifications: Grade 12 (essential); relevant tertiary qualification (NQF6) with a Retail/Procurement focus (desirable).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar position within a computerized retail environment (essential); experience at a middle management level (essential).
