Sanlam is a leading financial services group offering a wide range of financial solutions. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Regional Manager to drive sales growth and business development within the region. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the implementation of regional strategies across various financial services products, including Life, Short-Term (ST), Health, and Wealth. The role also involves managing relationships with both internal and external product providers, as well as driving the success of Financial Planners in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regional Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to grow the regional market share.
- Drive the implementation of the Succession VP across all four business classes (Life, ST, Health, Wealth).
- Lead sales and marketing efforts to promote Sanlam and external product providers.
- Financial Planner (FP) Development:
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new Financial Planners.
- Manage FP contracts and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support business development activities for Financial Planners to expand their practices.
- Operational & Compliance Management:
- Ensure regional compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Manage and guide a team of Business Administration Consultants in the onboarding, vesting, and development of Financial Planners.
- Oversee the compliance of submitted business and ensure adherence to best practices.
- People & Budget Management:
- Lead and manage a team, ensuring effective performance and growth.
- Oversee budget management, including monitoring and controlling expenses in line with business objectives.
- Business Partnerships & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with approximately 130 internal and external industry product providers.
- Foster partnerships to support business growth and ensure alignment with regional goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Management diploma.
- Commercial/Financial or Business-related diploma/degree.
- CFP/RFP3 or equivalent (120 credits).
- Extensive experience in the Financial Services sector, particularly in sales and marketing environments.
- Proven leadership and sales management experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
IT Skills:
- E2 Financials, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Sanfin, Sanport, COMPAY, SSED Analytics, POWER BI.
Business & Financial Services Knowledge:
- Broad understanding of the Financial Services industry, including products across Life, Investment, Health, and ST.
- Knowledge of distribution strategies and models, financial and budget management.
- Expertise in sales and marketing principles, client segmentation, and value driver metrics.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, compliance standards, and risk management within Financial Services.
- Strong leadership and governance principles.
