Dischem Vacancies – Regional Cash Up Administrator
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Regional Cash-Up Administrator for the Gauteng region. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting cash office audits, ensuring compliance with internal control procedures, and maintaining accurate financial records for assigned branches.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12/Matric
- 3–5 years of retail cash-up and auditing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Auditing or Banking
- Experience in auditing or retail banking
Key Responsibilities:
- Review cash control systems to ensure compliance with established procedures.
- Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal accounting controls and submit reports on findings.
- Reconcile petty cash and change float for the assigned region.
- Develop strong internal controls for payment collections and safeguard against cash loss.
- Audit and check till runs to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct reviews and audits of petty cash systems, expenditure, and change float safes.
- Monitor compliance with internal operating procedures and conduct full audit cycles.
- Identify and investigate unusual transactions or discrepancies during audits.
- Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports with clear findings and recommendations.
- Implement document control processes, including float, petty cash, cash on hand, and daily spot checks.
- Ensure proper record-keeping and filing of financial documents.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s policies, standard operating procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Competencies:
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills to assess reports and reconcile cash office activities.
- Ability to work with cash office staff and analyze till runs to identify discrepancies.
- Assertiveness and effective communication when resolving queries.
Preferred Competencies:
- Bilingual skills
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Willingness to travel between different branches within the province and occasionally to other provinces.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
- South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.
