Introduction:
SPAR is looking for an experienced Receiving Manager to join our team in Worcester. This role plays a key part in managing the receipt of deliveries and the dispatch of returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Job Description:
The Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient receiving of goods into the store and ensuring the accurate dispatch of returns to vendors. The role is critical in minimizing shrinkage risk at the receiving doors, managing stock disposal in line with company policies, and handling all administrative tasks related to receiving operations. The Receiving Manager also controls visitor and merchandiser entry to the premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Systematically receive and return goods in accordance with company procedures.
  • Conduct quality inspections on all incoming shipments.
  • Ensure cold chain maintenance for temperature-sensitive goods.
  • Uphold hygiene and housekeeping standards in the receiving area.
  • Enforce security measures and prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damage to stock.
  • Assist with security procedures at receiving doors when needed.
  • Complete all administrative tasks and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Operate equipment safely and according to company guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, management, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Carry out key holder responsibilities when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Experience as a Receiving Supervisor or similar role.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports.
  • Strong leadership with a proven track record of achieving results through others.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and follow-up skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Adherence to company standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Customer-focused with a business mindset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and in physically demanding conditions.
  • High level of confidentiality and trustworthiness.
  • Problem-solving skills to address unfamiliar issues.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage urgent matters effectively.
