Pick n Pay Careers – Receiving Manager – Parklands – Western Cape
We are looking for an experienced Receiving Manager to join our team and oversee all receiving and dispatch operations. This role is critical in ensuring smooth and accurate handling of stock, minimizing shrinkage risks, and maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and documentation in our store. If you have a detail-oriented approach and strong leadership skills, we’d love to have you on board!
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving & Dispatch Management: Accurately receive all deliveries, oversee returns to vendors, and dispose of stock in line with company policy.
- Shrinkage Control: Minimize shrinkage risk by adhering to security protocols at receiving doors and ensuring visitor and merchandiser entry control.
- Quality & Cold Chain Maintenance: Conduct quality checks on received goods and maintain cold chain standards for perishable items.
- Documentation & Compliance: Complete all receiving-related administration and documentation with precision, following company policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership: Plan, organize, and follow up on receiving activities; motivate team members to achieve operational goals.
- Customer Service & Communication: Foster strong communication with staff, management, suppliers, and customers, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Uphold hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working standards, and assist with security procedures at the back door as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Receiving Supervisor is required.
- Education: Matric Grade 12.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to read and interpret reports and manage administrative tasks.
- Problem Solving: Skill in generating solutions to unfamiliar problems and addressing urgent matters effectively.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a physically demanding role under various weather conditions.
