About the Role:
As a Production Planner, you will ensure the efficient planning, scheduling, and coordination of aircraft maintenance events and modification projects. You will work closely with maintenance, engineering, procurement, and quality assurance teams to optimise downtime, resource allocation, and workflow, supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate maintenance downtime for scheduled checks and coordinate planning activities with Maintenance Planning and Production Control.
- Collaborate with Materials Planning to ensure all required spares are available ahead of scheduled check input dates.
- Review and validate work packages and engineering documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Develop and maintain Gantt plans and production schedules for maintenance events and modification projects.
- Monitor progress of maintenance activities within Heavy Maintenance Hangars and adjust schedules to mitigate delays or resource conflicts.
- Assist in tracking open tasks, work orders, and parts shortages, escalating supply chain issues promptly.
- Coordinate pre-check and post-mortem meetings with all relevant stakeholders to review performance, identify shortfalls, and implement improvements.
- Liaise with Maintenance Planning, Production Control, and internal stakeholders to provide timely updates and production reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and planning processes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant aviation regulations, policies, and organisational standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable effective collaboration and information flow.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Technical Diploma or aviation technical trade (advantageous).
- Qualification in project planning and management (advantageous).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in aircraft planning, production control, or aircraft maintenance.
- Experience in project planning and management (advantageous).
- Familiarity with technical maintenance systems (MRO software) (advantageous).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally and work overtime.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Knowledge of aircraft documentation, including MPD and OEM/Boeing manuals.
- Working knowledge of aviation regulations.
