Job Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement departmental business plans in line with our merchandise strategy.
  • Manage forecasts to meet growth and profitability targets as set in the Business Plan.
  • Prepare merchandise assortment plans that support the approved departmental strategy.
  • Ensure sufficient stock inflows to maintain agreed replenishment service levels.
  • Provide timely merchandise information to minimize risk and maximize business opportunities.
  • Execute project plans to meet departmental objectives when applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Grade 12 certificate.
  • Preferred: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Stats, Business Science, or a National Diploma in Internal Auditing, Cost and Management Accounting, or Financial Information Systems.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of the retail merchandise cycle, including Buying, Planning, Logistics, and Store operations.
  • Familiarity with the SA retail clothing market and seasonal/non-seasonal replenishments.
  • Strong commercial acumen and numerical aptitude.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven abilities in planning, organizing, and time management.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years in product planning within retail and/or FMCG is essential.
  • Experience in replenishment, assortment planning, and store planning is preferred.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and recent Microsoft Office software is required.

  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and deadline-driven.
