Job Description
Tekkie Town is looking for an experienced and driven Product Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping the success of our Ladieswear merchandise strategies by developing and implementing business plans that align with our brand’s goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize product assortments, manage inventory, and drive financial performance.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Statistics, or Cost and Management Accounting
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- 3+ years of product planning experience within a retail environment
- Strong knowledge of stock control, distribution, and the retail merchandise cycle
- Advanced skills in G-Suite, Excel, and MS Office Packages
- Understanding of seasonal and non-seasonal product replenishment
- Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring staff
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives, accounting for factors like inflation and profit margins
- Collaborate with buying, design, and cross-functional teams to optimize product assortment and financial performance
- Create and manage sales budgets, leveraging historical data, market trends, and business goals
- Conduct sales performance analyses to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports to track progress and inform decision-making
- Oversee and mentor a team of Store Planners and Trainees to achieve business goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and retail stores
- Conduct post-season reviews to refine future product planning and assortment strategies
- Optimize inventory levels to balance product availability with markdown risks
- Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) effectively to meet financial targets
