Portfolio Manager – Top 100

Rand Mutual Assurance is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Portfolio Manager to lead strategic client partnerships, maximize revenue opportunities, and strengthen key business relationships. You will be supported by a team of key account executives while driving sales, partnerships, and operational excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Sales Management

  • Develop short- and long-term sales strategies to achieve company sales and profitability goals.
  • Engage executive business leaders to discuss strategic challenges and deliver impactful sales presentations.
  • Define and execute partner/client strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Analyze business opportunities based on profitability and mutual partner benefits.
  • Generate sales progress reports, pipeline updates, and forecasts for partners.
  • Craft partnership proposals in line with RMA’s strategic direction.

Developing and Maintaining Strong Partner Relationships

  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at partner organizations.
  • Conduct regular partner visits to strengthen engagement.
  • Oversee service delivery and performance expectations with senior leaders.
  • Drive high partner retention and renewal rates.

Operational Focus

  • Collaborate with partners to identify growth opportunities.
  • Measure customer success metrics to improve lifetime value and satisfaction.
  • Assess partnership effectiveness and ROI.
  • Maximize revenue streams while expanding RMA’s market presence.
  • Lead partnership negotiations and agreement development.

Team Management

  • Lead a team of specialists in deepening client relationships and executing campaigns.
  • Set performance targets, monitor progress, and ensure team success.
  • Mentor and develop talent while supporting career growth.
  • Recruit and onboard new team members.
  • Optimize financial resource utilization.
  • Manage PR agency relationships and collaborate on brand communications.

Qualifications and Experience

  • NQF Level 7: Degree in Business Management (Postgraduate degree advantageous).
  • RE5, Key Individual (advantageous), CFP (advantageous).
  • 5–8 years in Financial Services, including 5 years in long-term insurance.
  • 3 years of management experience in Insurance/Financial Services.
  • Proven sales track record with C-suite engagement.
  • Strong background in strategic partnership development and revenue generation.
  • Expertise in financial services, legal product knowledge, and key account management.
  • Proficiency in managing budgets, sales teams, and group benefits.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
