Purpose of the Job
Medirite Plus Lydenburg is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Pharmacy Sales Assistant to support the smooth operation of our in-store retail operations. The ideal candidate will excel in customer service, demonstrate strong communication skills, and be enthusiastic about interacting with customers. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, managing visual displays, processing refunds, and identifying customer needs to recommend suitable products.
Job Objectives
- Handle payments and balance sales and receipts according to company procedures.
- Stay informed about new products and maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
- Restock items and organize the sales floor in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct regular price audits to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Process customer payments using the store’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintain product knowledge to provide informed advice and recommendations.
- Stay updated on promotions and special offers.
- Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained.
- Perform housekeeping duties to keep the store clean and organized.
- Address customer queries promptly and escalate issues to higher management as needed.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Grade 12 qualification
Experience
Essential:
- At least 5 months of point of sale/till point experience in a retail environment.
- Proven track record in retail sales, including experience on the sales floor and at the cash counter.
Knowledge and Skills
- Solid understanding of customer service principles.
- Familiarity with stock receiving procedures and merchandising standards.
- Computer literate.
- Bilingual, preferably fluent in Afrikaans and English.
- Friendly and engaging personality.
- Knowledge of payment procedures (e.g., cash, cheque, bank card, credit card, coupons, vouchers).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and exceptional customer service skills.
