Shoprite Vacancies – Pharmacy Sales Assistant

Purpose of the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Pharmacy Sales Assistant to ensure smooth in-store operations. The role involves greeting customers, monitoring activity to prevent theft, arranging visual displays, and processing customer refunds. The ideal candidate will also identify customer needs and suggest appropriate products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle payments and balance sales and receipts in accordance with company procedures.
• Stay informed about new products and maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
• Restock items and organize the sales floor according to standard operating procedures.
• Conduct regular price audits to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Process customer payments using the store’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Offer advice and recommendations based on product knowledge.
• Stay updated on all promotions and special offers.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards.
• Ensure proper housekeeping.
• Address customer queries promptly and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Essential: Grade 12 qualification.

Experience:

• Essential: At least 5 months of point of sale/till point experience in a retail environment.
• Proven retail sales experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Computer literate.
• Bilingual, preferably fluent in Afrikaans and English.
• Friendly and engaging personality.
• Knowledgeable about payment procedures (e.g., cash, cheque, bank card, credit cards, coupons, vouchers).
• Familiar with stock-receiving procedures and merchandising standards.
• Strong understanding of customer service principles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication and exceptional customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented.
