Job Objectives:
The Pharmacy Manager will provide high standards of pharmaceutical care, ensuring accurate and safe dispensing, including generic substitution, and offering advice in alignment with Clicks’ practices and the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) regulations. This role will focus on managing all operational aspects of the dispensary, including safe stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping, and administrative functions in line with company standards and SAPC regulations.
The Pharmacy Manager will ensure the dispensary’s operational viability by maintaining sound financial management, focusing on core dispensary and clinic targets, managing expenses, and taking proactive actions where necessary. The role will also involve overseeing the development and management of employees, including learners and interns, through effective selection, leadership, and ongoing development to meet current and future business needs.
Additionally, the Pharmacy Manager will ensure staffing is managed according to the labor policy and model, ensuring proper staffing levels for each department and maintaining employee records. The position also involves managing customer service initiatives in the dispensary, ensuring a superior customer experience that drives customer loyalty and achieves club card participation targets.
The role requires close integration with the clinic and healthcare aisle, offering a full healthcare solution to customers. The Pharmacy Manager will actively contribute to Clicks’ vision of being the customer’s first choice for health and beauty products by embodying and driving company values, while fostering a high-performing business culture that enhances employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience post-community service year.

At least 1 year of people management experience.

Registration as a Responsible Pharmacist with SAPC.

Experience with Unisolve or similar pharmacy management systems.
