Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the dispensary and clinic, ensuring service excellence by leading and directing the pharmacy team to deliver high standards of pharmaceutical care. This role is key to meeting sales and compliance targets, which contribute to a competitive advantage for the brand.
Job Objectives:

Provide high standards of pharmaceutical care, including accurate and safe dispensing, generic substitution, and offering professional advice in line with Clicks’ practices and the legal scope of practice as defined by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).

Manage all operational activities within the dispensary, including safe stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping, and administration, in compliance with SAPC regulations and company standards.

Ensure the financial viability of the dispensary by focusing on core targets, managing expenses, and taking proactive actions to drive performance.

Lead, manage, and develop a competent and motivated pharmacy team, including learners and interns, to build capacity and meet the current and future needs of the business.

Schedule staff in accordance with labor policies and the relevant labor model to ensure each department is appropriately staffed, while maintaining accurate weekly time and attendance records.

Drive customer service initiatives in the dispensary to enhance customer experience, foster loyalty, and meet club card participation targets.

Foster collaboration and integration between the pharmacy, clinic, and healthcare aisle teams to provide a full offering for customers’ healthcare needs.

Uphold and promote the company’s values, ensuring alignment with the Group’s vision of being the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer.

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience:

Essential: Registered Pharmacist with SAPC

Essential: Minimum of 2 years’ experience post-community service

Essential: At least 1 year of people management experience

Essential: Registration with SAPC as the Responsible Pharmacist

Desirable: Retail pharmacy experience
-
Desirable: Experience with Unisolv
