Job Purpose:
To ensure the efficient operation of both the dispensary and clinic while maintaining service excellence. This role involves leading and directing the pharmacy team to deliver high standards of pharmaceutical care, meeting sales and compliance targets, and securing a competitive advantage for the brand.

Job Objectives:

  • Provide high standards of pharmaceutical care, including accurate and safe dispensing, generic substitution, and advice in line with Clicks’ practices and SAPC regulations.

  • Manage operational activities of the dispensary, ensuring responsible stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping, and adherence to SAPC regulations and company standards.

  • Ensure the dispensary’s operational viability through effective financial management, focusing on meeting core targets for both the dispensary and clinic, and proactively managing expenses.

  • Lead and develop competent and motivated employees, including learners and interns, ensuring effective selection, leadership, and ongoing development to meet current and future business needs.

  • Schedule staff according to labor policies and models to ensure each department is properly staffed, and ensure all time and attendance records are submitted to HR.

  • Implement customer service initiatives to enhance the customer experience, promote loyalty, and achieve club card participation targets.

  • Foster integration and collaboration between the clinic, dispensary, and healthcare aisles to offer a comprehensive range of healthcare solutions to customers.

  • Support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by living and promoting the company values.

  • Drive cohesion and consistency within the store’s operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams, ensuring a high-performing culture that fosters employee affiliation, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Essential: Registered Pharmacist with SAPC

    • Essential: Minimum 2 years of experience post-community service year

    • Essential: Minimum 1 year of People Management experience

    • Essential: SAPC registration as the Responsible Pharmacist

    • Desirable: Retail Pharmacy experience

    • Desirable: Unisolv experience

  • Job Knowledge and Skills Required:

    • In-depth SAPC and relevant legal knowledge

    • Ethical working practices and compliance with all regulations

    • Knowledge of stock management, cost control, and compliance procedures

    • Expertise in patient care and professional counseling

    • Customer service excellence skills

    • Knowledge of labor legislation and IR practices

    • Strong understanding of financial management principles

    • Proficiency in competency-based interviewing

    • Managerial, tutorship, and coaching skills

Contractual Hours:
45 hours, 6 days a week.
