DisChem Vacancies – Pharmacist-TLC De Wiekus-Kempton Park-Fixed Term Contract

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join the team at its TLC De Wiekus store in Kempton Park on a fixed-term contract. This role involves providing pharmaceutical care, ensuring patient safety, and managing pharmacy operations effectively.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • Grade 12 or Matric
  • BPharm or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of pharmaceutical experience
  • Retail pharmacy experience, including student or intern experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Advantageous

  • Retail or FMCG experience
  • SAP and E-scripting knowledge
  • Unisolv experience
  • Registered tutor
  • Fluency in a third language

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescribed medication and verify prescriptions for accuracy
  • Provide professional guidance on medication use, dosage, and potential interactions
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and legal requirements
  • Monitor patient adherence to prescribed treatments and provide follow-up support
  • Manage pharmaceutical stock control, procurement, and storage
  • Assist with the authorization of chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication
  • Maintain and update accurate patient profiles in the system
  • Process medical aid claims and resolve rejections
  • Offer customer service at the dispensary, self-medication counter, and front shop
  • Follow up on script tracking reports and patient appointments
  • Stay informed about changes in medical aid policies and claims procedures
  • Support the Dispensary Manager with administrative and stock management tasks
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and adherence to Dis-Chem standards
