Job Objectives

  • Deliver high standards of pharmaceutical care through accurate and safe dispensing, including generic substitution, in line with Good Pharmacy Practice and within the legal scope defined by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).

  • Provide professional advice and counselling to customers in accordance with Clicks’ operational standards and values.

  • Execute all dispensary operations efficiently, including responsible stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping, and administrative activities in compliance with SAPC regulations and company policies.

  • Ensure the ongoing operational viability of the dispensary by achieving core dispensary and clinic performance targets.

  • Support the development, training, and supervision of Pharmacist Assistants and Pharmacist Interns in accordance with SAPC requirements, where applicable.

  • Implement customer service initiatives that enhance the customer experience, build loyalty, and drive club card participation.

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including centre management, suppliers, and distribution centres, to support business objectives.

  • Promote effective collaboration with the clinic and healthcare aisle to provide customers with a comprehensive healthcare offering.

  • Actively live and promote the company values in support of the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Registered Pharmacist with SAPC, essential.

  • Retail pharmacy experience, desirable.

  • Unisolve system experience, desirable.

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Sound knowledge of SAPC legislation and relevant legal requirements.

  • Ethical working practices with a strong focus on compliance and governance.

  • Knowledge of stock, cost, risk, and compliance management procedures.

  • Strong understanding of patient care and professional counselling principles.

  • Commitment to customer service excellence.

  • Tutorship and coaching capability.

  • Results-driven with a strong focus on targets and performance.

  • Effective planning, organising, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong customer orientation and interpersonal skills.

  • Computer literacy with strong financial awareness and acumen.
