DisChem Vacancies – Pharmacist-Bryanpark-Sandton

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a qualified Pharmacist for the Bryanpark store in Sandton. The role involves providing pharmaceutical care, ensuring patients’ medicine-related needs are met, and maintaining accountability for all pharmaceutical processes.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • BPharm or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • 2-3 years of pharmaceutical experience
  • 2-3 years of retail pharmacy experience (including student/intern experience)
  • Computer literate – MS Office

Advantageous:

  • Retail/FMCG experience
  • SAP and E-scripting knowledge
  • Registered tutor
  • Unisolv experience
  • Proficiency in a third language

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pharmaceutical care by assessing patients’ medicine-related needs
  • Dispense prescribed medication and scheduled substances
  • Verify and sign off prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns
  • Advise patients on medication use, dosage, and interactions
  • Monitor patient compliance with prescribed treatments
  • Provide pharmacist-initiated therapy when necessary
  • Oversee the preparation, compounding, and packaging of medicines
  • Manage the procurement, storage, and sale of scheduled substances
  • Interpret prescriptions accurately and ensure proper record-keeping
  • Guide patients on medical aid claims and resolve errors on rejected scripts
  • Authorize chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication
  • Maintain and update customer profiles in the system
  • Report stock shortages and errors, and facilitate bi-annual stock takes
  • Ensure compliance with legal and company pharmacy procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service at the dispensary and self-medication counter
