Shoprite is looking for a Petshop Science Manager to lead operations and drive sales in the Pet Science store. This role focuses on ensuring compliance, meeting customer expectations, managing inventory, and overseeing staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales and profitability to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations and industry standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining high store standards.
- Manage stock levels according to company policies to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Oversee staff scheduling, forecasting, and supervision to optimize store efficiency.
- Provide ongoing training and development to employees to enhance product knowledge and service delivery.
Qualifications
Essential
- Grade 12 qualification.
Advantageous
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of management experience in a pet store.
- Strong background in inventory management, purchasing, pet merchandising, and cost control to drive profitability.
Key Skills and Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of the pet product industry, including pet nutrition, grooming products, toys, and alternative medications.
- Understanding of various pet types and their specific care requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in computer systems and retail management tools.
- Expertise in stock ledger accuracy and inventory control to support overall store performance.
