Purpose of the Job
As a Petshop Science Manager, you will oversee the effective management of our Pet Science store, ensuring that all operational, administrative, and managerial duties align with the Checkers Pet Science brand image. Your role includes managing stock and staff efficiently, adhering to security standards, and maximizing store profitability.

Job Objectives

• Drive sales and profitability for the Pet Science store.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and other relevant regulations.
• Meet and exceed customer expectations through exceptional service.
• Manage stock in accordance with company policies.
• Oversee continuous training and development of all staff members.
• Implement effective scheduling and forecast planning for staff.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12
• Advantageous: Degree/Diploma in a related field

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of management experience in a pet store.
• Proven experience in managing inventory, staff, pet merchandising, and overall store profitability.

Knowledge and Skills

• In-depth knowledge of the Pet Product Industry, including:
  • Pet nutrition
  • Pet grooming products
  • Pet toys
  • OTC/Alternative medication for pets
  • Various types of pets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Proficiency in computer systems
• Exceptional understanding of stock ledger accuracy and management
