Position Overview
Tiger Brands is seeking a People Manager: Corporate Functions to act as a strategic advisor and partner to our business leaders. In this role, you will manage and implement People initiatives across corporate functions, ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will provide expert guidance on talent acquisition, employee relations, organisational development, and leadership, helping to shape the people strategy that drives business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify and build key organisational capabilities, leadership, and behaviours necessary to execute strategy.
- Translate business needs into actionable People requirements, ensuring alignment with corporate functions.
- Serve as an internal consultant, offering expert advice on talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, learning, and leadership development.
- Partner with People CoEs and the People Operations Team to deliver HR services that support business goals.
- Monitor and report on Employee Engagement levels, developing plans to drive improvements within your business area.
- Create strategic resourcing plans to mitigate talent and succession risks, considering the impact of mergers, acquisitions, or divestments.
- Oversee Employee Relations delivery, including collective bargaining and consultation processes related to organisational changes.
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation (BCEA, OHSA, LRA, SD, EE) and represent the company at external dispute resolution bodies (e.g., CCMA, bargaining councils).
- Monitor progress toward Employment Equity (EE) targets, conduct EE assessments, and develop action plans to drive the achievement of those goals.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Commercial Savviness: Strong business understanding with insight into key success drivers, industry trends, and organisational processes.
- People Expertise: Deep understanding of HR’s role in supporting business strategy execution, with a track record in developing impactful workplace programmes (e.g., employee relations, talent management, organisational effectiveness).
- Inspirational Collaboration: Ability to engage, inspire, and influence stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIPD).
- 5-7 years of related HR or People management experience, including demonstrated success in implementing HR programmes.
- Proven business partnering experience at a Senior Management level.
- Experience in facilitating leadership teams and driving HR initiatives in large, complex environments.
