Purpose of the Job
We’re looking for a People Delivery Assistant – Meat Markets to provide vital support within our People function portfolio. This role involves accurate and timely administrative support, document management, and process coordination to ensure that all HR-related activities are well-recorded, organized, and traceable. The People Delivery Assistant will also provide hands-on assistance in various employee-facing activities as needed, supporting the overall People service function.
Key Responsibilities
Employee-Centric Delivery
- Delivering administrative support in alignment with People policies, especially for the Meat Markets division.
- Assisting People Delivery Partners and Divisional People Partners in providing HR support across recruitment, payroll, benefits, wellness, onboarding, and exit management.
- Escalating issues to maintain workflow and ensure compliance with HR and labor regulations.
- Coordinating and resolving HR-related queries and managing communication with stakeholders.
- Compiling, updating, and processing necessary HR documentation and data on relevant systems.
- Organizing and maintaining employee records and ensuring filing accuracy for audits and reporting.
- Participating in onboarding activities, including welcoming and orienting new employees.
People Engagement
- Collaborating within the People team to deliver effective HR services and solutions.
- Supporting an employee-centric culture focused on wellness, empowerment, and open communication.
- Engaging in team activities to foster a supportive environment for mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
Financial, Reporting & BI
- Ensuring accuracy in data entry and generating basic reports.
- Using data sources for informed administrative outputs and consolidating relevant data as needed.
Governance & Compliance
- Adhering to labor laws, organizational governance, and H&S standards, including compliance with the POPI Act.
- Identifying and mitigating administrative and functional risks within HR processes.
Continuous Improvement
- Collaborating to enhance workflow integration with other service areas.
- Contributing ideas to improve HR processes and support future-fit administrative practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in an HR administrative or HR Assistant role, with exposure across the HR lifecycle.
- Experience in the FMCG, retail sector, or similar environment, with knowledge of management payroll processes preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient understanding of HR processes, intermediate MS Office 365, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to think critically, with reliability and a high level of trustworthiness.
- Excellent communication and persuasive skills, with the ability to influence and engage all levels of management.
Desirable
- Experience with SAP systems and Workforce Management (WFM) systems.
